Youth : Then & Now

The spirit of youth has changed significantly because the days of

Joseph Conrad and his report, "Youth." Conrad highly emphasises the

desire and strong will of the youthful crewmen. Whereas, today's youth do

not posses he drive and determination of their ancestors. In general, it

is clear through the passing period, attitudes have changed.

The effectiveness of it, the faith of it, the imagination

of it!" Conrad's exemplory case of youth powerfully describes the greatness of

it all. Marlow and the other youthful crewmen possessed this top quality of

youth and powerfully exemplified it on the treacherous voyage of the Judea.

The youth of today, as many feel, don't have the strong characteristics of

past generations. One hundred years back, a young person may have eliminated on a

dangerous voyage like Marlow, but a man today leads a far more secure,

cushioned life.
